@Hi All,

I'm re-encoding very high quality mpeg-2's (480x480) to LBR (352x240)
and would like to test "Undot" or some filter that effect Gibbs noise.
Some have mentioned "UnFilter" as also having effect on Gibbs. I
know there will be loss when re-encoding, but I've converted SVCD's
before and they came out very good. I want to play with Gibbs noise
while I'm doing this.

hi black prince,

I've tried unfilter(-15,-15) with average results. I wanted to try undot but I couldn't find avisynth 2.05 alpha On sources that are very mosquitoey I use fluxsmooth() sometimes in combination with temporal smoother (2,2) :twirl: I can't wait till SansGrip comes up with a Gibbs filter because that mosquito noise bugs me more than the dct blocks do

Only avisynth 2.5 alpha supports "UnDot". Seems if your source
is clean (i.e. DVD) then the encoder is causing Gibbs noise and can't
be corrected with a filter until after encoding. I wanted to try re-encoding
from a high resolution mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 with "UnDot" and see how
much it would correct the problem. I too have had trouble finding
avisynth 2.5 alpha. I'll try to pm SansGrip on where to find it.
A version of "UnDot" that works with avisynth 2.07 would be nice

Hey Ren,

I've found avisynth 2.5 alpha at this link:

Let me know how you make out with "UnDot".
