Hi Kwag,

I'm trying to create a kvcd (x2 2cd - NTSC - mpeg2/svcd) but I think I'm screwing up somewhere along the line.
This is what I've done so far :

1) rip the dvd (Triple X / xXx) with DVD Decrypter
2) created a .d2v file with DVD2AVI
3) created a .avs file with FitCD. The only thing that's in the script is the following :
--------
LoadPlugin("I:\kvcd\MPEG2DEC.dll")
mpeg2source("C:\XXX\VIDEO_TS\xXx.d2v")
AddBorders(16,17,16,17)
--------
4) load the .avs in TMPGenc
5) load the Template in TMPGenc (KVCDx2-CQ-704x480-_NTSCFilm_-2CD.mcf)
6)changed the following options in tmpgenc :
- Stream Type (MPEG-2)
- Frame Rate (29,97 fps)
- Motion Search Precision (Highest Quality -- Very Slow)
- Advanced --> Source Aspect Ratio (16:9 525 line NTSC)
- Deinterlace (Even Fields) <--- (Is this correct ?? it does work..)

Now these are my problems :

The movie is ~120 minutes... this would suggest that it will be ~1,4/1,5 gb right (or not ??) ? well ... it's not.... it's more like 1,7 gb and that's even without sound and I want to put in on 2 cd's or isn't this possible ?? (xXx does have a lot high action scenes) The quality is very very very good so that's not a problem...
Also, the encoding of the movie in TMPGenc takes about 33 hours how is this possible ?? The specifications of my pc are :

Duron 750mhz
512 mb ram

Surely it shouldn't take THIS long... right ? :$
I think it's my fault that the file is too big 'cause I don't have similair problems when I encode from a PAL dvd
(btw. there are only templates available for PAL (25fps) and NTSCFilm (23,976/24fps)... why not for NTSC (29,970fps) ?? or can the NTSCFilm template be used (as I'm doing now)...

Another thing that's bugging me is that encodes from PAL are so much better quality then NTSC(Film).... why is this the case ? (I think I've already asked this question some time ago :$)

thank you in advance,

JJ
