I always have success with Kwags 352x240 templates..

I have tried about 5 or 6 times to make a KVCDx3 cd with various results.. I keep thinking I must be doing something wrong,
Please look over my method(s) shown below and tell me if you see a problem:

Previously I have had little luck being able to play the KVCDx3 template burns on my standalone (Akai DVPS-760)..

My source is usually divx files

Originally the steps I took was to:
1. extract wav in virtualdub.
2. Convert to mp2 in headace
3. Use avi file for video source and the mp2 as audio source in tmpge
4. Burn the conversion to cd-r using nero (selecting non-complient)
The results were a very good image and sound, but a JERKY picture..

Well, a few days ago I deleted all my KVCD templates and then redownloaded them all from your website so I could be sure that I had the latest settings.

Then I tried it again using other methods suggested here..
This is what I did this time:

1. extract wav in virtualdub.
2. Convert to mp2 in headace
3. Frameserved from FITCD to tmpge with the following script:
LoadPlugin("C:\WINDOWS\system32\MPEG2DEC.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\WINDOWS\system32\fluxsmooth.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\WINDOWS\system32\legalclip.dll")

AviSource("C:\Documents and Settings\Rich\Desktop\The Fast And The Furious [DVD-DivX].avi")
LegalClip()
#BilinearResize(528,286,26,0,524,240)
FluxSmooth()
#AddBorders(0,97,0,97)
LegalClip()

4. In TMPGE my settings was CQ 62, center custom size 528x286
5. I then muxed the m1v and the mp2 together in BBMPEG
6. Burned in Nero as non complient vcd

It plays fine on my computer in Windows media player, but the results on my standalone is a mass of blocks piled on top of each other on the bottom of my screen, and the top 2/3 of the screen is black.. the sound is fine.

As I stated..
With the last KVCDx3 template I got a excellent picture but it was a little jerky.
But with the updated KVCDx3 template, I can't even get a viewable picture!

So... either this is due to the change of template - or it's because I used BBMPEG to mux instead of TMPGE this time.

Or am I doing something else wrong?

Is it time for me to quit trying to make KVCDx3 work on my Akai DVPS-760 ??

@end80,

Well....you could try the Guide to convert Divx (avi) to KVCD:

maybe your problem it´s the resolution.

With the Kwag´s KVCDx3 my standalone only plays if the resoltion is 544x576 ( I´m a Pal user ). If I use the default ( 528x576 ) I only have a jerky and blocky video...

Try make some tests with another resolution, and unmark the # in your biliner resize and borders, these commands made the resize for your video.

Black prince.. actually - for the most part - I did follow that guide before posting.

Perfect cell. I have tried a few resolutions with Kwags templates.. I even tried 480x480, which I would have assumed would work for me becauase my player will play svcd's at that resolution as long as I apply the header trick.. but for some reason it wouldn't work..
So far, only the 352x240 is the only one does not give me problems

The reason I have commented out the resize and borders in fit cd is because I use center custom size in TMPGE, as suggested in Kwags thread at: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1969

Anyway, I'll continue to experiment!
