Hey, Kwag.
I think I've gotten to the bottom of my 'quality issue' with Divx sources. That second number is HUGE, and (I think) contributes in large part to the compression of the output. However since the Divx starts out at a really low bitrate (thanks Sansgrip) it overcompresses and creates that uniform noise that drives me up the wall. I've adjusted the GOP to 1-12-2-1-48, and though I've lost a LOT of compression, the sample encodes look perfecto!! Guess if Divx is my source, I'm stuck with two CDs
Time to pick up a dang DVD-ROM, and get cracking on the ripping section of your (awesome) forum!!
Many thanks,
Steve
