Hi Newbie here

I captured a music video from TV and am having audio stutter problem.

OS=win98se
Capture SW=AVI_IO
Capture at 352x480, Huffy to AVI

Encoder TmpGenc Plus 5.10, standard KVCD template

Burner: Nero 5.5+

The VCD plays on my stand alone DVD player Pioneer 343.
Video ok but audio stutters (skipping) in some spots. Subsequently encoded with different audio rate, 96,128 and 160 using joint stereor with no improvements.

However, if I encode to KSVCD, audio plays ok, no skip or stutters.

The strange thing is that the encoded Mpeg file or the SEQ files from the VCD disk plays fine on window media player, perfect video and audio!

I remember I had created a VCD before with audio skips but I somehow fixed that with some changes to the KVCD template, But now I dont remember how I did it.

I want to do a VCD for my friend because his DVD wont play SVCD

Can you experts comment on how to solve this VCD audio stutters

Try moving the VIDEO bitrate to 650 or above. I have the Pioneer DV-444 and the audio stutters when the bitrate is below 650.

Thanks a million.

I up the minimum bit rate to 700 and encode and burn a VCD. Works perfectly. Original template has min of 300.

May be I should have quessed from the fact that encoded/burned to SVCD (higher video rate) works but not VCD. I knew its something to do with the DVD player. Tried different CDR media and burn at different speed !

thanks again

cheers
