Hi dgm,
Have you already downloaded, burned and tested the KVCD Compatibility Test CD v.2 in your Apex 1110w to see which templates will play correctly in your player? If not, I'd recommend doing so...I believe the link for it is here somewhere in the "What's Happening" Forum.
I have tested the KVCD Compatibility cd in an Apex 1010w, and it played all the clips great (though they are very short clips). And according to the Nerd-Out forums,
http://www.nerd-out.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=32, the 1110w and 1010w are extremely similar, if not totally identical internally. So I would imagine your 1110w
should be able to play all the kvcd templates. Although for a brief period during the past year or so, Apex dropped their support for the VCD format altogether so they could save some money on licensing fees (real brainiac move there!
)....but since then, they have begun "
silently" supporting the VCD format once again...see, they don't have to pay Phillips a licensing fee if they don't openly claim their players are VCD compatible. So it
is possible that your particular Apex player may have been built during this span and then wouldn't be VCD compatible....hopefully not. Hope that helped.

One sidenote: if after testing the Compatibility CD, you do find that your 1110w
is compatible afterall, you may want to increase the minimum bitrate in the templates up a bit from their standard 300 setting (because on the Apex1010w, I have found that during some
very dark scenes such as during credits where the screen is almost totally black, some video glitching usually occurs....which I think is due to the bitrate dropping too low during these scenes for the player to handle it 100% properly). However, I haven't tested what the minimum actually
needs to be for 100% glitch-free playback on the 1010w since I do not own one myself....so you'll hafta do some testing....I would think upping it to somewhere between 350 and 750 should fix it.
