Lemme try to explain. I used to use KVCD templates until I got a DVD burner. Now I use KDVD HALF templates, obviously.

On KVCD, I was able to apply the NTSC film frame rate of 23.97 to video no matter what the source frame rate was. This saved TONS of space on the CD when I was converting full screen, 29.97fps video.

So, the KDVD templates don't do this. I was wondering, what would be the correct way to simply delete frames from the video when I encode from .d2v to .m2v? Is it possible? I know it was happening when I was using the older KVCD templates, but I don't know how to carry those settings over to KDVD.

I'm just a little frustrated since I can fit 1 & 1/2 hours of video on a CD, but only 3 & 1/2 hours of like-quality video on DVD... I should be able to fit 4x the amount of video instead of 2x. I really have to crank up the bitrate to get that MPEG2 video looking decent, and I know I'd be saving lots of space if I could get rid of those extra frames. Is there any way to work this out?

An AVS script entry? A TMPGEnc setting? Anything? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
