This is one essential piece of software. I cannot wait for the full featured version 2.
Does anybody have any idea on its expected release date?

Hi guys, First of all, i think you are doing a great work here, this is a nice, clean, friendly site. I ended up here locking for a better way to backup some dvd and I think kvcd is the best, a good balance between quality and portability; I've been cheking this thread every single day waiting news on the next moviestacker version, I'm specialy interested in the compare feature coz u can see the effects of filters.
Thak you guys, and keep the good work.

You can see the effect of a filter "on the fly" with the direct show filter ffdshow.
In the settings you have a "avisynth" section where you can put a script to test. It will be applied on the video currently discplayed !
I just compare the effects of Atc() and Deen() with this and it's very nice !

Hi Dialhot, thanks for the tip. But I have problems activeting the ffd show filter, I just get a garbled image.
I have de ffdshow packed with the Elisoft codec pack, I will try to get another version and see if it works right.
I've found another soft (AVSGenie), it looks promising althoug a little bit complicated. I'm gonna play with it and coment later on.
Seen ya.

be warned that even if ffdshow includes a mpeg1/mpeg2 decoder, they do not work very well (for not saying "not at all" )
Test it with an avi before concluding it doesn't work on your PC.

The link site is down, I need the program as I'm in the middle of a conversion. System crash cost me my files including Moviestacker.
Also if anyone has a cheatsheet (guide) on what to do with Moviestacker 2.0 step by step, that would be great too.
How come so many links to stuff are dead? Is it anything to do with the recent server swap?

Hi EightBall,
Long time no see
Try the link again. I just moved it to another place.
The problem has been bandwidth, making a hole in my pocket with excess bandwith per month
So I've had to resort to move data to different sites, to balance the load.

I'm getting ready to do a DVD 2 KVCD conversion after a long break...just wondering if there is any likely hood of their being a new version of this program...maybe one that supports the new MA optimal scripts ect.

Which version of avisynth should i get to go with Moviestacker 2 beta3.
As i am following red's guide.
When i provide the source to moviestacker it does not show correct length of the movie.

Hi there,
As far as I know you could go with Avisynth v2.08 or even Avisynth 2.54.
The problem with 2.54 is that it will only allow you to produce a correct resize.
The other filters won't work.
Since Muaddib is back, maybe he'll have some time to develop a new version of MovieStacker
compliant with Avisynth v2.5x.
But that will surely take a while, of course.
So if you're new with Avisynth you will be better off with Avisynth 2.08 and current Moviestacker.
If you're already somewhat experienced you should use Avisynth v2.54 with a good script such
as the MA script that you can find at the Optimal Scripts section of the forum.
Cheers
