Hi!
I have got a pioneer 444 and all my movies are working great with KVCD.

But the are so long theat they only fit on 99min CDs.
But the movie skips then at the last 10 minutes and repeats some parts

twice or more.

How can I make my player play 90/99min cds or how can i make the movies smaller?

I use 352*240 CQ70 VBR 22.

Encode the audio with 96kbps instead 128 .
U can save 20-25% from audio size .
Cut Subtitles - save 15-35mb .

What do you mean by cutting subtitles?

And will the the sound get worse with 96kbps in stead of 128?

Did you try the 352*480 KVCD template? According to the compatibility list, the 352*480 template worked with the 444. The list might have to be updated if you could only get it to work at the lower resolution. If the higher resolution did not work, then what were the problems, jerky video? unsynched audio?

BTW, my CD rips at 128 are near CD-quality. 96 might not be too bad depending on how good your hearing is.

My problem is that if I use 99 min cds the last 10-20 minutes of a film cant be seen because of the player repeats always 5 seconds!!!!!!!

I think that u have a simple prob .
What kind of CD-Writer do you have ?
To burn CD-R99 you must have the one that can burn 99min59sec 's.
If your writer is not compatible or software doesn't support, or file size is to big , than you got this kind of prob .
If file size is bigger than 999mb (with vcd or svcd additional entries) than you couldn't burn the cd correctly .

SO , go to tmpgenc->file->mpeg tools->cut->add(add your file)
in window appears the clip you have to cut . With marker on time line go to kredits at the end of movie an mark them with "}" . -> OK
and Press "RUN" . It's easyer than it sounds.
If file is still bigger go to tmpgenc->file->mpeg tools->simple demultiplex
(demux) . Add your file and run .
Resulted audio file m2p load to TMPGenc and encode to to 44100 with 96kbps (at settings->audio section).
After encoding resulted file mux with tmpgenc->file->mpeg tools->simple multiplex . You got NEW MPG file with smaller size .

So you will be able to cut about 30-100mb of file size.

Do you really mean not bigger than 999MB??

Don´t you mean 899?

Cause I have a movie with 973 MB (mepg-size) and it doesnt work correctly at the end of the movie (about last 10 minutes!)

Not all writers support CD-R99 . I have pleXwriter 16/10/40A and I know that there is no point to get CD-R99 coz he doesn't support him .
SO TO GET THE POINT - check if your writer can burn cd-R99 or u have to check your softwere that u are burning with .
Give me those params please if u wanna to go on !!!
CD-R90 with overburn can write 938mb file + 7mb SVCD entries =>945mb
I'm using them for about 5 months and no prob's .

I always burn with Nero 5.5.8.2.

I recon there was no problem while burning the CD-R? Check if your 99min CD-R works fine in other Drives and dont burn with more than 4x speed.
The maximum my Yamakawa 715 and a Scott player of an friend can play are 90 min CD-Rs.

The cd works fine in other drives (99min).
But it doesn´t work in my Stand-alone.

Please, what could I do ? I´d really like to put the film on one cd.

The movie has a length of 2h 50min and the last 5 minutes do not be played correctly.

If your player dont like 99 mins CD-Rs youre out of luck. If you want it on 1 CD(2h 50mins JEEZ! )You have to encode again with slightly lower settings(e.g decrease CQ value a lil bit)

I for myself settled for 2 80 mins CDs on anyting over 90 mins. Especially the sound quality will benefit from that(if you raise it from the standard kvcd template that means)
