OK thanks for the help so far guys, I managed to use vcd easy to pull of the file of the discs. But now, I need to join them and get them on to a DVD.
This is what I did last night:
I used TMPG and used the mpeg tools to join them, That was fine, but of course I had the over run from the second disc. I loaded the joined mpeg file into my WINONCD 6 (DVD) and went to cut a few frames out. for some reason it didnt cut the frames. Do you know of any oter way? and also the file is 4.92gigs so I can get it on to the disc as is just over 2gigs too much. I tryed the other way to convert it in WINONCD and was left with one .vob file. Still cant burn it as there is no .ifo or .bup file for it and the same size. If I can get a .info file , I can use dvd shink to make it smaller.

THanks for any help you can pass on

All I do is copy the files from the MPEG folder of the SVCD, then rename them as part one and part two. MPEG2VCR can handle it, or the merge in TMPGEnc. Just load part one, use edit to find out where it ends. Load part two, use edit to have it start right where part one ends.

If you have 2 SVCDs, you should end up with a file that is at most 1.6 GB. Some DVD players can handle SVCD MPEG2 files, some cannot. What I usually do is load the merged file into TMPGEnc and convert it to Half-D1 using the KVCD template. This way, I was able to fit two movies 3.2 GB on one DVD.

My next project is three old Universal Horror pictures, Frankenstein, Bride Of Frankenstein and Son Of Frankenstein, all three should fit as Half-D1 files.

For another solution, try this guide: http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/userguides/159399.php
