Suggestion ?. Yes : use the last optimal script !

if you find the picture great with only "bilinearesize" into you script and a CQ of 43.05, I'm sure you will find the new picture fantastic ! (you CQ will be near 60 I guess).

You can even make a test with the ini file provided by Avalon on his guide page : the script isn't the last one but for discovering what MA script can offer, it's perfect.

THANKS...Soon as im done writing this reply i'll go look for it. I thought the HIGHER the CQ the LARGER the filesize will be. Isn't that why during the encoding it does the 5-6 test runs to see the BIGGEST CQ possible and stay within the 1-DISC request..

I went to
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic....553a297c6e3277
3=GripSize(resizer="BiCubicResize")

So how is it different then the one I used??

I believe I just add this to my kvcd_lbr.ini file right??

Code:
[AVISYNTH_Adaptative Filter]
0=ConvertToYV12()
1=nf=0
2=GripCrop(^TargetWidth, ^TargetHeight+^BorderTop+^BorderBottom, overscan=^overscan, source_anamorphic=^source_ana, dest_anamorphic=^dest_ana)
3=GripSize(resizer="BiCubicResize")
4=Undot()
5=Asharp(1, 4)
6=STMedianFilter(^S_FilterThreshHold, ^S_EdgeThreshHold, 0, 0 )
7=MergeChroma(blur(^blur_chroma))
8=MergeLuma(blur(^blur_luma))
9=SwitchThreshold = (Width<=352) ? 4 : (Width<=480) ? 3 : 2
10=ScriptClip("nf = round(YDifferenceToNext())"+chr(13)+ "nf >= SwitchThreshold ? unfilter(-(fmin(nf*2,100)),-(fmin(nf*2,100))) : TemporalCleaner(6+nf,11+nf) ")
11=GripBorders()
12=function fmin(int f1, int f2) { return (f1<f2) ? f1 : f2 }
^overscan=1
^source_ana=false
^dest_ana=false
^S_FilterThreshHold=8
^S_EdgeThreshHold=32
^blur_chroma=1.58
^blur_luma=0.1

That's right, but the purpose of the MA script (and others scripts) is to use filters that increase the compressibility of the picture without (too much) lost in quality.

That's why the CQ raises but not the file size !

And for the ini file, you believe correctly. You can just remove the line "0=ConvertToYV12()" if you don't do avi. That line is necessary only with avi. See these threads :
