The purpose of dvd2avi is, as the name of the tool let it know, to make an avi from a vob. What you want is like making an avi from an avi. Not very usefull.
In few words : no, there is not.

Although it sounds a little sarcastic thanks for the quick response. Would i be able to convert the avi to SVCD and put that through DVD2AVI to obtain my .d2v file???
TIA

The question is : Why do you want to do that ?
I'm sure there are lot other ways to do what you want without using DVD2AVI.

I am struggling to get to grips with making KVCD's as i am sure you can tell . I have read all the guides etc. and I am trying new methods after failing at a few of them. I am not one to give up and the idea of creating 1 disc movies is indeed a goal worth perseveering for. I am sure even all you experienced bods have your own favourite, different methods and I am just trying to find my own (without luck) but i will soldier on as i may have stumbled upon a guide that kind of makes sense to me.
Wish me luck

You're crazy! AVI is a source like VOB (ingrained in a D2V-project). So there are many programs who'll work with AVI too.
TMPGEnc
CCE
ToK (using TMPGEnc)
AVS (is a Script. AVISource...)
ACP (using TMPGEnc. ACP is able now to inport OGM and matroska too!)
and so on...

You don't understand : correct me if I'm wrong...
I guess that what you want is to convert a divx and all you see in the guides here starts from a MPEG2. So you are in trouble with "MPEG2SOURCE" command in the scripts that don't want your avi, but need a d2v.
So you thought "I just have to convert my avi in d2v and that'll be okay".
Am I wrong ?
I think I'm right. And I can tell you : there is a better way ! Just use "avisource" insteed of "mpeg2source". That's all.

You are right, I may be (in my head) simplifying things but they arent possible. Where do i use "avisource"? At this current time i am trying to encode using moviestacker / Tok unsuccesfully. The guide I am following isnt the most in depth and has left me stuck at that point. Please note that your past info is helping me and probably other n00b viewers of this post and is appreciated.
Chimp
Please excuse my lack of knowledge

See last post on the following thread, you will see the script that Wolfi use after all the hints I (and others - girv, vmesquita...) gave to him :

Right lets wrap this up because we could go on forever. So i create the script I want with Moviestacker / Avisynth 2.52 and make sure "avisource" is where it is on wolfi's script and i should be ok yeh?
Chimp.
P.S. It would have been extremely easy to Flame me. Thanks for not doing

Yes it is. In fact avisource have to be the first line of your script, juste after all the "loadplugin" ones.

No Joy I'm afraid, just to clarify quickly....
.... been trying to follow black princes Divx to KVCD Guide. Everything fine until i get to movie stacker as the guide goes a little vague at that point. Anyways manage to create a script (avisource included) and then on to Tok. Load all settings with Tok extras and follow all direction of guide related to other settings. Click on start TMPGEnc opens for % seconds a time for roughly 4 - 5 times. BBmpeg stays open for 2 mins then says complete. Go to directory where ecerything was done test.m1v and the first, of what i assume should be numerous, movie00.mpg file is there (15Megish in size) But that is it.
Any tips?!?
TIA

A wild guess: do you have Sampler() in your script??
If you do, try to remove it, because you don't need it, when you're using ToK, it has it's own sampler...
Anyway post your script, and some of the many experts here will help you I'm sure....

Remove the line "Sampler()" at the end of your script.
