Hi guys,
Unfortunately not all of us have the skills to run *nix on their PCs.
Since Kwag compiled the Win32 version of ffmpeg I haven't been able to try it because I don't have any quality AVIs and ffmpeg is not accepting VOBs.
Is there a way to convert my VOBs to AVI so that I can test ffmpeg?
If so can you elaborate on how?
Also, Kwag, when will we have a version of ffmpeg with the famous Notch Matrix?

Cheers

I'm encoding VOBs with the .exe I uploaded

When I can juggle the 1001 things I'm trying to do at the same time
I'm working on a site transfer now, so when we're running on the new site, I'll tackle that next

Hello rds_correia:

I just started playing w/ ffmpeg, and thanks to kwag, as well as posts regarding ffmpeg, I was able to work with .VOB files as well.
I am following the script tha kwag posted a couple of days ago. Just in case, you can find it here:
http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6153
On my first tries, VOBs were not working for me, only because I forgot to enter the ,VOB extention. Something else you may try, just for kicks, change the fps to 29.76 and see what happens, after all, we are just playing around

Regards

Hi guys,
I've just checked my command line and I must say that I am using the same commands you are using.
I have ffmpeg.exe and libz.dll on the same folder with a path like F:\Documents and Settings\Rui Correia\Desktop and I always get the same Windows error message.
BTW I'm running Windows XP Prof. in English on a PIII550.
Here a sample:

Have you seen this happening?
Thanks

Edit: Damn it seems that I can't make the print screen to show...

Apparently right when the encoder has finished analysing the vob file and when it's going to start encoding a message from windows appear asking if I want to send information to Microsft or not because of the problem that ffmpeg has encountered...

For sure, you put it on one of your local disc. If all people could read the F: disc on your PC, I guess you shouldn't be very happy

For you problem, can't you just copy/past the error message (right click in the title line of the dos window where you run ffmpeg and you will have a "select" choice).

For sure you're right.
Now, the problem is I don't get any message on the command line window.
I just see a windows xp window appear saying that "ffmpeg has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".
I also get an opportunity to send the error report to Microsoft so that they can take a look at the problem lolooolol
I'm sure you would give better help if you saw my windows...
How can I show them to you guys?

cheers

Man I was looking foward to get some help on this one. I just wanted to know if ffmpeg for windows is really faster than TMPGEnc...
