the last couple of videos i have been encoding is giving me troubles. i use the template but only for video as i do my audio with besweet. ill show you the list of tools and their processes:

rip with SmartRipper 2.41
save project and ac3 audio with DVD2AVI 1.76
convert to psuedo avi with VFAPI Converter
ac3 to mp2 with BeSweet: http://www.doom9.org/ac3tomp2.htm
open psuedo avi in VirtualDub, correct framesize and aspect ratios (352x480 NTSC) and frameserve out
open vdubs VDR file in TMPGEnc, load template and wait...

funny thing is that my psuedo avi shows 1:29:01 in duration
my finisded mp2 shows 1:29:01
after encoding in tmpgenc, my source position shows 1:29:01 (100%)

when i play my m1v file or after i mux the video and audio the file shows 1:28:55 in duration. of course, the audo goes out of sync. im wondering what ive done to deserve this. this only happens the odd time. does it have anything to do with the field operation in DVD2AVI? should i not be using forced film?

im hoping someone is having similars cause im going CRAZY!!!

Hi Deltaboy !
I think that your problem is that TMPGenc is not good to mux audio and vodeo created with another prog's . I experienced same prob when tryed
to encode in TMPGEnc video stream from DVD2AVI d2v and audio encoded by tooLame at same time (as external encoder option) .
I've got same prob . It can easily be solved if you just take d2v and wav file (as audio) from DVD2AVI . If your DVD player can manage VBR you do not need search any other encoders , TMPGenc is more than fine .

i hear ya BMAN, but i am a very picky person. i am an audio freak as much as i am an video freak. id really like to keep using besweet to encode my ac3 audio to mp2.

i just did another rip and noticed that the tmpgenc video file duration and the besweet audio duration once again did not match, but when i muxed them (using tmpgenc) it came out just fine.

i think its because the dvd was an oldie (from the 70s). so maybe these are being digitized onto dvds in a different manner than from the new ones. i dunno. i guess i could encode my ac3 to wav then to mp2 via tmpgenc in order to guarentee sync.

thanks for throwing out your suggestions, BMAN. really appreciate it...
