Hello everyone! I'm sorry if im asking stuff that is already answered somewhere in the forum but i've been checking the forum and reading stuff for about a month and i want to have all the information to one place before i start my big project.

I've got a lot of movies at home and now i would like to make a best of the best collection on kvcd. There will be ~50 movies to encode so i have to have all the inforamtion before i'll start. I've been testing a bit with the kvcd system but most only using tmpgenc template and not any filters. Now i'm testing around with moviestacker 2b3 and ToK, they are great!!!

Is it correct that i make a simple moviestacker script without any filters, just resizing (and??) then add some script i find in the forum after it or do i have to do anything else?

And do I have to encode the ac3 files to wav/mp2 before i start or can this be done autom by ToK? Also i'm thinking of making all to PAL standard and "stretch" them so i dont have to zoom-in with widescreen TV, is that recomended or im just being stupid then?? I'm planning to make 2cd/movie, so it will probably still be pretty good cq walue after stretching.... or will it?? I do have a NTSC->PAL converter so its not a have to do thing but for compability reasons I think it's still better with real PAL.

Also I'm still confused with the resizing stuff, so if anyone could help me with that it would be nice (borders etc.)! And finally can I make a batch? (else i have to start one movie before i go to sleep and one before i go to work, then it would take forever to finish this project)
aaah and still one, have anyone figured out how to burn these with winoncd 5 (3,6 vcd mode)?? I have to get them to work exactly the way i want before im satisfied and i cant get it with nero or something like that

and yeah, you can answer pretty tecnicaly, i probably understand it anyway
Also if ill get all this to work I'm planing to make a true DivX->KVCD guide with all the infos and programs youll need on my own server so its really easy to make a good quality kvcd

And a big thanks ti dialhot & kwag, you guys are the best!!!
(damn this is a long post....)

That's all correct.

Tok can do this but you can also doing it a aprt yourself. As it, if something fails during Tok work, you don't have to redo everything.

Now, it's not stupid. Just check the "anamorphic" box for the destination in Moviestacker and it will compute correct value for the "stretching".
But be carrefull : the more image you have to encode, the worse is the quality. So tretching is sometime wort than using the internal zoom of the TV.

You answered yourself to my previous point .
2CD is a better idea if you paln to strech the picture.

Your TV can't deal with a NTSC source ? Almost all tv sets can nowaday.

YOu mentioned you plan to use Moviestacker ? It is the tool to use for the resizing ! Just load the source and trust the values it gives to you.

With tok you can't. You can do a little batching with CQMatic but it does not handle the audio, only the video.

so does moviestcker automaticly get the best resolution for me??
and do i have to add some borders or anything to get it to work ok

and if i convert the ac3 files to plain wav files and with ToK select the opion where i want to encode an external file does it "stretch" the audio to sync if i do the NTSC->PAL conversion??....and no my #¤%/"¤&# crap television cant play ntsc but i made me an conversion box with rf modulation included

damn i'll start testing again right away I get home from work

Yes, and Moviestacker will give you the correct borders to add.

No, Tok doesn't do it. But you can use BeSweetGui for conversion NTSC-PAL

Yes, and Moviestacker will give you the correct borders to add.
To be more exact : you choose the resolution you want and Moviestacker computes the parameters needed for the resizing and the borders.
It is not Moviestacker that choose the resolution
