More or less the one done by Cougar Pines month ago and already in sticky post (I do not blame you Cybertr0n, just wanted to mention that point).

The only problem is that I do not see anywhere a line "load the kvcd template in tmpgenc". You forgot that point

The same : you never talk abotu settings of AUDIO. The defaults when you open TMPGENc the first time is stereo 224Kbp/s

And if you can remove the bottom line "and you get the same results! " the guide will more accurate.

FOR SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE THE SAME RESULTS ! The results are good (KVCD is ), but far from the ones you can obtained with the "complete" method. For instance, putting one movie on a CD with CQ "between 75 and 80" without any script is possible only with VCD resolution (352*240/28. With complete method the same job can be achieved in 544*480 !

We are not nuts : if things could be done so easily, we would do it this way

You surely know that already, but do not fool the people reading your guide.

When I do KVCD, I always use 352*240 (28 and have never used higher res. Because I think lower res will increase the bitrates and then have better qulity on TV. Am I wrong? Please instruct me.

The higher the resolution, the better the picture, but it's a trade off against CQ However, the better image quality (res @ say, 528x480(576)) should not require quite so high a CQ for a similar result

Having said that, I can only use 352x288 for display on my DVD player in MPEG-1 format, but if I could, I'd go higher

I think it's generally agreed here, (help me out here, guys), that a higher resolution is best providing that the CQ does not drop too low.

That's exactly that ! The best manner to procede is to start with the hightest res (544*576) and calculate the CQ. If it is below 65, reduce the resolution and find the CQ again.
