One more time (hope the last), using a little the search button can be nice.

The only diff when you do anime compared to regular movie is that you have to reduce the length of the GOP to 15 picture insteed of 24.

Hi khusru

I'm not sure if this what you mean but if its a neweer movie like Finding Nemo i think you can leave the GOP at 24 but if it is an older one then do what Phil said

A search on the forums would also have shown that Finding Nemo is not what is classed as Anime and should be treated as a normal movie

Less compression, therefore lower CQ

Generally true but not for anime. In fact for anime you have a better compression with shorter GOP but you shouldn't go below 15 as, even with a better CQ, the visual aspect is lower.

On the other part, you can't use log GOP for anime because of the nature of the image : plain colored surface separated by strong black lines. Long GOP on this leads to bluring and compression artifact.
