In TMPGEnc there is a setting called Field Order: Bottom Field First/Top Field First. Does this option exist in CCE? I heard reversing field orders may stop jerky picture. I have CCE 2.67 and I can't find this option but I heard CCE has it.

Yes CCE has it, it was renamed in version 2.66, it's called "Offset Line", 0 means TFF, 1 means BFF.

Would the resultant MPEG-2 be disastrous if the source AVI video is TFF but the Offset Line is set to 1 (for BFF)? I just happened to know this detail recently. It wasn't mentioned in the Divx to KDVD quide by vmquesita.

-tff EVEN
-tff ODD

Yes - the result will be unwatchable if you miss the correct field order.

This however is only important on interlaced material, you can choose whatever you want with progressive material you won't have a problem.

For pulldown i've no idea how to change it, as i've never needed it yet.

There have been reports the CCE no matter what you set as fieldorder keeps encoding as TFF!

To get rid of that wrong Flag if BFF is really neede, open the CCE encoded m2v in RESTREAM and patch the header to BFF if needed.

I just downloaded RESTREAM. I can't find a "patch BFF" option. Is it the same as unchecking top field first?

In Restream you find a "Picture Coding Extension" and there you mark how the stream will be played back afterwards check "Top filed first" or not ... also you can set the progressive Flag etc.

You're right. CCE keeps outputting the MPEG-2 file as TFF even though the source is Interlace and BFF and I've set the Offset line to 1 (BFF). I used pulldown.exe and the option -tff EVEN. It did made the field order of the MPEG-2 file BFF......... BUT now the video goes faster and goes out of sync with the audio. I didn't know field order change can create such an effect.
FYI the MPEG-2 is 23.976 fps, I used the command
pulldown.exe input.mpv output.m2v -tff EVEN -prog_seq i -prog_frames i
