Mainconcept reports skipped frames in the main window but what about CCE? I think jerky pictures could be because of skipped frames. Is it in the video information? If so what should I look for?

ME skips some frames ???
What codec is that ? I hope it skips only bad ones !!!

For CCE you can control the num of frames encoded in the progress window. But you must be in front of your monitor to check the number when the job will be 100% done bevause it is not logged anywhere.

Note: A skipped frame loead to unsyn audio. It is not possible to have an encoder that skips frames !

You talk about skipped frames in recode process, or in encode durning capture process I've never noticed skipped frames durning recode in any encoder

I'm talking about recode process. I'm converting some Divx/Xvid videos to MPEG-2. In this thread, Prodator64 says the error mean frames were skipped.

I never had the problem with dropped frames when doing e reencode.
Not when using CCE neither TmpgEnc.

Yeah just thought I would give Mainconcept a try since it's a good encoder but I guess it'a not meant for KVCD or KDVD.
