I guess GK intalls evrything it needs to work and that includes Divx and Xvid codecs. They are probably too old.
Update these two codecs manually and configure them to output in YV12. I think it will solve your problem.

GK instals AviSynth of its own, and this is (AFAIR) v2.0, so maybe try to reinstal (= uninstal -> instal) AviSynth.

Sometimes it's not necessary to understand. Just trust

TMPGENC needs a YV12 codec to use avs script. And for that we generally use XVID codec. But Divx can supply it if necessary.

(but Hydeus idea is also good for this problem).

I had a prob with avisynth after i installed 2.53 over 2.08.

Goto windows system and delete avisynth named dll's and reinstall, works fine after that.

You should install avs2.54 for using with KVCD.
But... if GK installs aqavs2.08 taht means taht he probably won't work with 2.5x.

BTW, who need to do crappy Divx encoding when he can do nice KVCD ?

Hi dialhot

I cannot get the freaking thing working!!!

I think it must be something to do with not having the right filters for tmpgenc where i get all the filters from??? i have been to warpage but can't find like gripfit 2.5 filters or things like that btw GK installs 2.53 avisynth.

If i uninstall everything GK, avisynth and install avisynth 2.08 tmpgenc will work! why is this avisynth so buggy

oh well i might forget about kvcd and just do divx.

You had a perfectly working system for KVCD, you intstalled a shitty tool to make crappy Divx that screwed up all your system and then you decided that is KVCD that have to be left on the side ?

Man, we don't have the same way of thinking

Note: for Gripfit for avs2.5, do a search on the forum with "gripfit AND rar".

I think you are wrong, avisynth works.

Test it with a script containing only this :
Code:
Version()
Open that in wmp and tell me the result.

Your problem with tmpgenc saying "can not open, or unsupported' has nothing to do with a non workinh avs ! That's the opposite : that tells you that avs2.5 works perfectly and... provide something that tmpgenc do not understand. This thing is a YV12 video stream.

And we are back to my very first post in this thread ! :banghead:
