It lets me read AVIs captured from my Canon ZR40 in both Virtualdub and AviSynth, and you can also save DV files with it (as long as the source is 720x480/576). It might work when capturing video too, which would be nice (not as nice as HuffYUV but better than MJPEG or MPEG

Chroma values in NTSC are sampled in a weird way (one value for every 4x1 block of pixels) but PAL is more sane (even though I can't remember what it is right now

). I didn't really notice it from the material I captured, but that could be cause I'm partially colourblind...
