Hello guys

Just wondering say you don't have the original dvd and haven't seen the movie but have the vobs on your hard drive how would i determine that the movie has some subtitled sections in it? i.e. i have Rocky 4 vob files on my hard drive been told there are subtitles in the movie somewhere how could i find which bits have subtitles without having to seek through the whole movie?

Thank you.

Hi,
I would tell you why but if you have vobs and don't have DVD...
I just can't you see.
Or did something happen with your original Rocky DVD disc?
Break it, lost it, etc...
Cheers

Well, it's good you made a backup of your DVD, before you lost it, or it broke, right
To the point. Use DVDShrink to open your VOBs (ifo), and there, you'll be able to select and identify your subs.

Boys, you don't understant. First he said "Just wondering say you don't have the original dvd" (you don't have it rds, neither kwag, just Adder has it.)
I don't understand how he will look at inside vobs, if vobs ar "on your HD" rds or kwag. Maybe a "fortune teller"?

No, you are translating it literally. He doesn't mean if "we" have it
That's the way it's said in English

Generally in case if DVD info, no matter if we have to find out the right subtitles, or correct audio substream in the vob .... which is necessary in case of commandline batching incl. audio etc. or in case of Subtitles and the usage of SubRip.

Open the .ifo of the movie containing Vob Files count of your orig. DVD streams using IFOEDIT.

IfoEdit shows EVERYTHING ... you can change things like the first play action to get rid of not wanted first play titles.

Also in case of a "flipper" movie DVD. you can use ifoedit to regenerate IFO files out of the merged VOB (for Mencoder i.e.) so chapters subs etc. will be set right again in the regenerated ifo files.

Thanks for the replys guys.

Kwag i can't get dvd shrink to work when i select the VIDEO_TS folder it gives me the following message "DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to open file "G:\xxx\xxxx\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO" The system cannot find the file specified."

If i rename the IFO to "VIDEO_TS.IFO" and try to open i get this error message "Invalid DVD navigation structure"

Whats going on?

Renaming "car" a bike will never make it have 4 wheels...

Here you definitely miss some important file so even you restart from the begining, that is use the original DVD (I don't care you said you don't have it !) even we close this thread that clearly talk about DLed movie on the net and there is NO DVD that don't have any copyright. If I'm wrong, give me the name of the DVD you are dealing with. Hummm ?

I'm very suprised so much people continue to post in this thread that I would have closed since the first post !

Note: Inc told you to use Ifoedit on the Ifo file to see what is in the vob.
