Out of curiosity has anyone ever modified the matrices.ini file in DVD2SVCD so that it has the new KVCD matrix? Using the matrix plugged into DVD2SVCD without any optimal avs scripts to see the quality generated?

If anyone has done this feel free to share some feedback. Thanks!

Not necessary, I have already added the "notch" matrix to the end of the matrices.ini file labeled KVCD new... anyway... I was just curious if the results came out pretty good without the avs script loaded... although I guess you could use the Frameserver tab and edit the avs script as well. Have you tried that as well?

yes jbarnett79,
Frameserver tab and edit the avs script are magnifics features!
better than without avs script is the Phil's scripts build in special for d2s,
take a look:

http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7221

encode a sample using trim in the end of the script and "feel the taste"!

Well, I make all my KVCD/KSVCD using D2S, with Dialhot's adaptation of the optimal script and the notch matrix, and I am pretty satisfied with what I get. The only problem I have deals with file size prediction, which is not really predictable (some might say that it is predictable, in the sense that we all now we cannot trust it).

That's why I dropped DVD2SVCD even if I was one of its 'guru' here some time ago.

You can try to use the plugin done by azel (DVD2KVCD). It encapsulates the use of CQMatic to do the prediction and this should give far better results. But I never tried.
