In total there are 15 users online :: 6 Registered, 1 Hidden and 8 Guests
I'm sure someone else has already placed this question but I just can't find the answer.
Karl, ever since you blocked nonregistered users to the whole forum I have been wondering how sometimes the forum claims to have hidden and guests.
Could hidden be the administrators ?
But what about the guests?
TIA
Cheers

I can make an educated guess who is the hidden one, although I think he has another account on this board which he's been using since his exile.

Actually, I think there are "two" hidden users, which I'm pretty sure we know who they are

Hi Karl
That's what I thought .
But what about the guests?
Are those the guys that hit the forum disclaimer telling them that they need to register to get inside?
Cheers

Hi Boulder ,
I see what you mean buddy.
But I don't see how that fellow user could be browsing the forum using a different account.
Especially since Karl made that forum user downsize.
Anyway, I have appreciated the forum for the last weeks with no fights, although I haven't logged on many times due to overwork .
I'd like to have this condition permanent, I mean, the "no fights" condition .
But thanks for your opinion on the subject
Cheers

What do you mean?

It didn't take many posts from that person for me to notice that he's actually someone we all know (or at least used to know). He's behaved himself so far, which is good, but I think he got a "forced rest" on another forum for not doing so.

He once even quoted his own post and agreed with it No need to mention I almost fell off my chair..

What I meant is, Karl recently erased a big bunch of users that hardly ever posted here.
Chances are that even if our fellow user had another account besides his regular, that one has been erased along with a couple of thousands, right?
The only way our fellow user could be browsing the forum using a different account is if he had re-registered himself in the last couple of weeks.
Do you mean, that's the case?
Because, even though I've been away, I've read most of the posts and I don't see how I could have missed a post from our fellow user .

I'm affraid I don't get what you're saying.
Do you mean he had any problems at VCDHelp or D9 also?
This is all news for me.

Still don't quite understand, but I don't think I really need to.
Anyway if we're having our fellow user visits and he hasn't had behaviour problems, I say we leave it as it is, for now.
Do you agree?
Cheers

He has been registered back in 2002 IIRC and had some posts on his account.

There's one thread at D9 in which he really lost it. I don't know if the mods banned him or if he escaped it without any punishment. It wasn't the first time there.

Sure, no problem with that. It's just been interesting to follow whether he'll reveal himself at some point by mistake

I see. I sincerely haven't lurked D9 much except for the NuEnc threads.

Great, cause the fellow we knew before is indeed a very nice guy, as I'm pretty sure you all are BTW.
It's just that I spoke with him on the phone lot's of times and he didn't seem a person that is "on the edge".
He just had these very unpleasant problems lately...
Reading your words I take that you are very much convinced you "got" him, aren't you?
Anyway, not of my business.
Just let us know if something wrong happens again.
Cheers

Just to smile a little : currently 9 registered users are logged, including 6 moderators.

This is the most secured forum I ever saw

Well I don't really know if I should smile at such a fact.
That is appart from being funny it also brings a dark side effect.
I wouldn't like to see kvcd.net so much secured that all it's users would start to abandon it because of that.
But I take it that you caught the forum on a very low "busy" hour Phil.
Cheers

There has been very little discussion lately but my guess is that nothing's really happened. Now that there are no zillions of the same questions each day, it can sometimes get very quiet. Nothing wrong with that, there are always ups and downs.

Hi friends and partners: I think, maybe it is possible that not registered users, when arrives to kvcd.net/forum, and see in main page that he has to be registered first, already are being sensed for php software. Then, they are showed as guest.

That's exactly what happens
And every new IP that hits the site, has a "persistence" of 15 minutes, even if the user goes away.
Just like when we log in the forum, if you just stay idle on the main forum page, your name will be shown on the current users list. Then it will dissapear, even if you're logged on.
If you reflresh the page, or go into any forum sesction, your name will reappear again for another 15 minutres, from the last you clicked anywhere.
This will happen until you either log off, or time out, which I think I set the forum to a maximum log on time of 6 hours.

I think I'm one of the "hidden" because I altered my profile a while ago so that :

Always show my e-mail address: No
Hide your online status: Yes
