I've read a few posts in different threads on Doom9 by Bach and he does sound like a spoilt child. Definately a case of "Its my ball, either play by my rules or clear off". Maybe he should read the Doom9 rules about insulting people.

Another quote for him is

"If after 30 minutes in a meeting and you have not worked out who the arsehole is, then it is probably you"

@Kwag, best way is to offer people solutions and let them try it out. Some people get too entrenched with their own ideals and cannot see that maybe there are alternatives.

Maybe one day we will figure out the formula which is correct 100% of the time for every situation. Though some people will still not believe it....

LOL!

This is the exact reason why i don't go to Doom9 anymore. No one can have a discussion, only an argument. E.g You could say - i'm using Tmpeg and i'm getting big filesizes .......

The replies come in saying .... Why are you using TMPeg - its for idiots and dum-asses who don't know how to encode!
The Bach guy comes across as a proper Computer Geek! We had lots like him at University.

I just posted my last reply on that thread. I really got tired of trying to deal with an "Einstein wanna be", who in reality would better fit in a dark lab 300 feet beneath the earth's core, writing a thesis and theoretical papers that are mostly impractical and too complex
Here, we do things, and make things happen. Not talk about theories or hypothesis. And I know WE have made many things happen here
