Artificial Intelligence- I just saw this the other night- I liked it! Pretty good story I thought and good special effects too. That kid's a good actor. I started to laugh when I saw "Dr. Know" because someone around here had that avatar which I had though was Santa Claus

Boring!? Oh man... I think it's one of the most intense dramas that I ever saw.
I think it's a great great movie, and the end is just perfect!

See those most advanced robots searching for the human existence was cool!
And they (the future robots) were the only ones that really care for the suffering of the robo-boy.
They had much more "humanity" with the boy's feelings then any human in the movie.
I cry every time I watch this movie.

BTW, this was my very first movie encoded with KVCD!
Look here! Back to old times of CQ_VBR... it's almost an year now!

it was a good movie but the ending was kind of weird. its like the ending to hannibal. you don't really know if its part of the movie or some kind of strange dream sequence.

My honest opinion is that Spielberg went off track with A.I. I mean it's not a bad movie, but I think it woulda been a lot better had Kubrick lived long enough to make it himself. Here are the main problems I can see with it:

1) It's too long. By about 45 minutes.
2) Are we supposed to care about the boy's "mother"? I mean I know the kid's a robot, but would any non-psychopathic person really be that mean to him just because her real son conveniently comes out of his coma?
3) What the hell is an aquabicopter, or whatever it was called? A helicopter that can also go underwater? Again, smells like a convenient plot device to me.
4) Considering New York City had been underwater for however-many years, why was there power in the building they visited? If they had restored power, why was the rest of the city deserted?
5) Why does Spielberg always have to stick on a happy ending?

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. If you want a good recent Spielberg movie, get Catch Me If You Can.

About Kubrick... you could be right, but we will never know.

1) Naahh... I don't think that was a problem.
2) She was too confused and too afraid of the "robot". But you are right she was really mean... psychopathically mean.
3) Exact! A helicopter that can also go underwater! You have just to think that its turbine could handle water as much as air. With their technology I would be surprised if they don't have it.
4) Well that's simple and you just answered it your self. They had power because they had restored it. About the desert city; was it really desert? I don't know. They just didn't show the inside of other buildings, and in my opinion they didn't need to. Sure that could be other companies inside other buildings; in fact the "future robots" were searching and finding bodies over there.
5) You are kidding, aren't you?

I think you noticed how much I like this movie.

I didn't watch this one yet... but usually I don’t like DiCaprio’s performances.
Anyway this one look like to be fun in the trailers that I saw.

Trouble is, I can't think of much practical use for it -- except to get Osment and Law and the bear underwater .

But it didn't look like an inhabited city. It looked deserted. It was still mostly underwater. Why would anyone live or work there? It doesn't make sense to me.

I don't either, but he's good in this movie -- as good as What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, I reckon.

Oh man... just use your imagination. I can think in a billion uses for it!

Very good movie. Tom Hanks is very good and DiCaprio was borderline
as a sixteen year old.
