Can anyone report their experiences with KVCD template and the Darwoo 5700.. It would be interesting to know if my machine is the cause of my problems.

well the spec's are impressive, and you should not have any problems playing anything on it.

VCD
SVCD+Subs+Tracks
XVCD Upto 9000kbits
XSVCD Upto 9000kbits
MP3 - 320kbits
miniDVD

instructions for making the DVD-5700 region-free and "VCR-friendly" are posted at:

Yes I agree pnumonic. Thats why I chose it. Mine is region and macro free and a freind and I have hacked the firmware and replaced the corporate splash screens with alternate images. I have a screen which shows all my favorite actors, Deniro, Pacino, Hackman, Hoffman, Voight, Washington, Poitier, Pesci, Liotta, Stone, Kilmer, Hopkins, Streep, Woods,
Newman, Redford.

Of course after seeing the splash screen it can be a letdown to be showing "Dude Wheres my car" HAHA.

What I really need is someone who HAS this machine who has tested, or is willing to test, the KVCD template.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

I just tried my first KVCD using the DVD on CD settings. Played on my Darewoo 5700, but sound skipped! Apex AD-660 was VERY blocky!

Had I posted way back when I should have, Id have said it the machine.
My sound skipping problems have dissappeared somehow. Maybe updated versions of software, maybe 10 or so total system crashes which made me reformat and start fresh, maybe I swore at the player and scared it. WHo knows? But just so you know, I had the same problem, its gone. Dont know why. But that means it cant be the player.
