Is it a general "KVCD" problem or is it a DVD-Player problem?

Or else, are there any Players which show the playtime right?

Yes there are. But even on PC you have software that give you correct time and others don't.

at VCD mode the Players-Firmware takes the length of the .dat file and assumes that 10MB=1Min. So, if you burn a kvcd mpeg, as VCD this information is naturally wrong.
at SVCD mode the Players-Firmware has no constant bitrate of video, so
it takes the cbr audio-track to calculate the length.. supit, as it is, most players assumes that it is a 224 kbs Audio stream.. and wrong again
If you make a mpeg2 kvcd-mpeg file with 224 kbs Audio and burn it as SVCD the shown playtime will be correct.
