Keeping 5.0 channels...
Can't you mux the ac3 & m2v using bbmpeg? I've done this about 8 times successfully now. The resulting mpg is usable asis in DVD Workstation without any re-encoding.

You've helped so much & I'm almost there :). One more hurdle to go.
I previewed the m1v made by TMPGEnc in Power DVD & it looks ok. The mp2 generated by HeadAC3he (AC3->mp2) plays fine...

Ok will give it a try. I'm re-creating the m1v as I type since I tossed it in disgust. The first one goes forward a while & then visibly steps back a couple frames before continuing on throughout...
