Another way that may be helpful is to use tmpgs...

Another way that may be helpful is to use tmpgs authoring app, it allows you to import dvd video, you just specify the titles you want to import.
It should also import the chapters for you as well....

I would be inclined to say yes as I have the same...

I would be inclined to say yes as I have the same result, even with dvd playback the audio is quiet. I dont have soround sound, I just use the tv and this may be the reason.

If I were trying to fit 6 hrs or more on a dvd then I suppose I would choose 1/2...

I use windvr too with a very cheap and nasty cap card and it does a fantastic job.

You can use dvd2avi to load the mpegs from windvr and if they are segmented I rename the extension...
