for the deinterlace, have u tried the "Blend Fields" option?
There's an article on Doom's site with more on deinterlace n stuff...

if you need to de-interlace , there is a filter in tmpgenc that will do let you choose the type of de-interlace to apply--blend, even field, etc,,,,
