seems strange ac3--->Input Channels Mode: 2/0, Bitrate: 112kbps but it's not important now.
you forgot to post if you're doing mpeg1 or mpeg2...

first: dvd2avi don't convert the audio to ac3 but extract the ac3 if the vob have ac3 track audio!
second: now we are working with what "if you remember correctly"...
