Posting this warning here in case people land in this thread while looking for info about VMC-1. If this is not appropriate, delete my comment.

Edirol VMC-1 was my first ADC. Bought it from big European reseller (Thomann). After a while I discovered a hardware bug under some conditions -> clipping in one audio channel or some such. I do not remember the details. In the end Thomann/manufacturer let me understand it could not be repaired/replaced and returned my money instead. Thomann delisted VMC-1 completely and Edirol stopped selling it also after a while. I cannot prove that all VMC-1's are defective this way, but if you have audio problems, it's not just you.

Never heard of such thing, Mine was working flawlessly, Anyway Edirol was bought by Roland and the product got discontinued in the later years following the death of the DV format, It has nothing to do with any bug if ever existed.
