I purchased:
Verbatim 4X DVD-RW (Verbatim # 94836) and 4X DVD+RW (# 94520).

When trying to use them in my MAC (10.5.8), I get the following error:
"The disc can't be burned, because the device failed to calibrate the laser power level for this media."
I sucessfully burned to Verbatim CD-RW and CD-R.
What is the problem? Any suggestions?

Did you try another DVD-RW from the same package?

Does the drive read DVD-ROM (pressed discs), DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, or DVD+RW?

Can it burn to DVD-R, DVD+R, or DVD+RW -- or another brand of DVD-RW?

Do you happen to know the make/model of the drive? For example, a standard "HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS23N" or something similar?
That info should be under the system info, under the Apple menu.
