What capture cards work best with Mac?

Im looking to capture old VHS tapes on my new Mac Studio. I bought an Elegato capture and realized its low quality. What Capture card(s) would you recommend for my mac? Is there a list like the VCR list?

Are using the new Ventura OS?

I'll be testing cards on M2 Pro and Ventura in the near future, when some other tasks are completed. Mac users don't have many choices, and most of those are lousy (Blackmagic, Elgato, DV boxes, all pretty lousy quality, many problems).

Im using Monterey 12.6 // haven't upgraded in fear of losing some programs that havent updated.Whats my best option for a capture card?
