Aramkolt, Are you sure about this? Are you saying that if I change the TBC board capacitors on a VCR the tapes with flagging will play normally? I just find it odd that all my VCRs fail to play these...

You mean at the top of the frame? Unfortunately these tapes do exist out there and the only explanation I can come up with to why they have that problem is these tapes are probably recorded on VCRs...
