Panasonic AG-1980P shows no video?

Good afternoon,

I have an AG-1980P that accepts a tape, plays it, but only outputs audio. The entire time the screen remains black. I've tried both the s-video and the BNC have the same issue....

Yeah I made sure it's in the little groove on the back of the door. It almost looks like the gears push that plastic level a little too far causing it to sag.

I am fairly new to repairing these and can't figure out why it does this. It pulls the tape, the head spins then stops and tries to eject the tape without reeling it back in.

Two questions - are you sure that's the /16 version, and if so I'm kind of confused what that means. It says NTSC can be played on PAL TVs right?
