Should I be aiming for 4:3 DAR with mini DV?

Should I leave the native resolution native 720x576 or should I be aiming for 4:3 in conversion like I do with VHS?

How to play DVSD videos on Windows 10/11?

I have been unable to find the codec for this format. At the moment i get strange behaviour where the file will play for three quarters then cut out. I am using sclive 4.0 for capturing mini DV.

So I thought I found the fault but my issue still...

So I thought I found the fault but my issue still persists! I found a cracked solder joint as shown in the photo. I now wonder if I have gone so far out of alignment, I'm struggling to get it back....
