Mencoder tips for better DVD mpeg2video?

im wondering if theres any better mix of setting for nicer video this is what i use right now

-oac lavc -ovc lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd:tsaf -vf harddup -srate 48000 -af lavcresample=48000...
