Hello everyone,
Has anyone experienced the issue of damaged tapes with the Sony Betamax SL-HF950ES?
This recorder damages the inserted cassette / tape on the underside.
I have attached the photo.

Interestingly, the tape is not damaged along the entire length, but only at the beginning. In the place where winding and unwinding occurs during insertion and extraction.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Yes it happens. I suspect your VCR needs a service/repair.

It is not help what I need.

I need a procedure.
What to check or adjust.
Surely it won't be such a complicated mistake.

There is no such one procedure fits all, You have to identify the root cause of the problem, There are hundereds of reasons that can cause tape crease and each one of them has a different procedure to fix, If you are not familiare with repairing VCR's there is nothing that you can learn from a forum post, People went to school and trained for 1000's of hours to be able to fix a problem like the one you have, It is complicated if you are not qualified. I know this is not what you want to hear but this is the reality unfortunatly, The least you can do is get a service manual for your model and start reading thru it.

The first thing to do is open it up put a tape in and try to figure out what is hitting the tape or causing it to crease, It may not be as easy as you may think but give it a try.

This has already been done.
And unfortunately, I don't know the place of collision at first glance.

Well then the wise thing to do is look for a repair guy in your area, if you can't find one try one of the online services, it cost you extra for shipping round trip but they will certainly know what's wrong with it. Someone here has a good experience with MrBetamax.
