I've got 3 devices
- Panasonic Blu Ray Recorder
- Laser Blu Ray Player
- Laser Set top box (ie tuner/media player - no storage)
I've got 2 old WDs and they are recognised by everything and they were bought before I got these 3 items.
they've got heaps 'data' and heaps of MP4s
Panasonic - give the 'play mp3/videos etc' box, doesn't prompt me to register them.
Laser Blu - ditto and shows up in the media centre
* it plays the mp4s BUT with no sound. no worried but if you've got an answer...
Laser Set Top - plays AND can record too them
MY MASSIVE HEADACHE... the new WD...
Panasonic - ask to register, cannot play the thing thru the 'function menu' area
Laser Blu - front display registers IN and OUT when done so, but does not show in media centre
Laser Set Top - can't play an can't record
all these I can feel the drive vibrating so something is working
the only time it registers is on my Windows 7 laptop and all the videos on it are there and I can play them
bought it from JB HIFI 2 weeks ago
emailing WD has just got nowhere at all
went to JB HIFI, the guy said change it to exFat or Fat32
only had Exfat option so transferred all of drive (only 10 GB of mp4s nothing else) did the format and transferred them back
NUPE didn't change 1 single thing - same shit (sorry guys)
I'm not a tech nerd but is this missing some sort of software which makes it work normal
anybody had this same scenario
I haven't emailed Laser or Panasonic yet
MY PLEA does anybody have a bloody answer
awaiting any replies
