Within a few days I will try to service an Aiwa multi-standard VHS VCR which shows the following symptom:
if you power it on without a tape inside, the VCR seems to be continuously in rewind mode (spins all the time).
Trying to press stop or other buttons has no effect.
Do you happen to be familiar with this defect or this model of VCR?

I will post more detailed information as soon as I start the actual service attempt.

Sounds like the cam gear stuck in the rewind mode, If the cam gear doesn't move the mode switch will order the position sitting on which is rewind, Find out why the cam gear is not moving, Broken, inop motor, jammed, broken parts ...etc.
