So happy I found this website. I am learning a lot! Many thanks.

I have a JVC HR-DVS2U. It was working perfectly to transfer video via DV in/out (firewire) but then quit mid transfer. As far as I can tell the VHS and miniDV player are still working fine, it is the DV in/out connection that is the problem (computer no longer will recognize). It's not the cable. I checked it on other equipment.

Was wondering if anyone on the forum might have some Canadian suggestions for repairs before I ship to one of the US repair shops recommended in the pinned post? I am sure the deck could use a cleaning and overall check as well.
