Hi all,

I recently bought this JVC HR-S3912U to record some old home videos. Everything seems to work fine mechanically, but as soon as I hit play, it briefly shows an image from the cassette and then shuts off. Has me wondering if there is an issue with the gear that rotates the actual film because by the looks of it, the image doesn't change - stays static. It makes a noise prior to shutting off. Unclear if that's a noise that's always made when these things turn off or if it's related to the issue.

After doing some more research online - I'm thinking this might be a mode switch issue? Potentially just need to clean the contacts. Does anyone know where those are on this model?
