JVC SR-S388E - Good VCR ? Better than HR-S7500E ? Please opinion about SR-S388E.

I have SR-S388E. Has a very good TBC that also defeats copy protection to allow direct to DVD recording of such material, however filters are limited and no sharpness slider. You have a three position switch, but no real noise reduction. It also boosts the chroma more than other VCR's - sometimes too much.
It is very good for older off air faded recordings but not for thinks with solid strong colour like cartoons.
Its part of my kit, but not my main unit, and I would not suggest it as such as being better than the 7500, which does have filters.
