I have had this sitting around for a while, and today I made a makeshift s-video adapter for it. It seems to work well - except for the fact that the image has the fields swapped. It also seems a bit shifted.

Using the 10.2 ATI and WDM drivers from the AMD website, on XP SP3, had trouble getting others to work.

Has anyone experienced this issue with ATI cards? I've tried messing with resolution and video system but nothing seems to fix it. My Leadtek Winfast card in the same computer captures with the fields correctly. I've tested with both Virtualdub2 and 1.9. The ATI TV app doesn't seem to work with this card.

Hodgey,

I doubt I know enough to help with how or why the fields are swapped but I was wondering which drivers you had tried. Maybe it's just a driver compatibility issue. Of course, that offset looks just like I get with both my X850XL and X1800XL which I understand to be par for the course with PCIe cards. Interesting that its occurring on an AGP card with what I'm assuming is a Rage Theater, not T200.

What exact version of 9600 VIVO are you using. I've found a fair number of similar things (eBay, old reviews, etc.) now that I've looked around a bit. Sapphire, Gigabyte and HIS (at least) made similar items. They all seem to use the Rage Theater, not the Theater 200. Gigabyte seems to have made VIVO and what they called V/D/VO (which I interpret as meaning VGA/DVI/Video Out) versions. The V/D/VO has the pads for the Rage chip but it's not there.

Would earlier drivers be more appropriate for the 9600/Rage Theater combination? I noticed that at least Gigabyte and HIS still seem to have drivers available for download but I'm not sure what they are.

I also dug around and found my old VIVO card, an HIS X1650 VIVO. It looks about the same as this
With it were the installation disks for it and a similar X1600 that broke. The X1600 disk includes some interesting old drivers I haven't seen elsewhere (I don't think...) with 3 WDM options. Maybe HIS used one install disk for everything ATI that they sold at that time and maybe even included drivers for older cards.

Information I pulled together from the .inf files of the X1600 disk:

"The files appear to date from around 2005/2006

; Base INF Last Updated 2005/10/12

XP Display driver info:
DriverVer=01/04/2006, 8.205.0.0

XP WDM driver info:

AVS_T200 information:
(for T200 like on AIW X800, etc):
"ATI T200 Unified AVStream Driver"
Copyright 2005, ATI Technologies
Ver=T200 AV Stream Driver (1081)
DriverVer=01/03/2006, 6.14.10.1056

WDM_NSP information:
(for earlier Rage Theaters 200???)
Copyright 2002, ATI Technologies Inc.
Ver=T200 NSP Driver (6326)
DriverVer=01/03/2006, 6.14.10.6326

WDM_SP information:
; Copyright 2002, ATI Technologies Inc.
Ver=AiW/ViVo 4.07 (6246v5)
DriverVer=08/03/2004, 6.14.10.6246"

Take a look at the Gigabyte and HIS sites. Maybe they have something of use. I could also upload an ISO from the X1600. It even has Norwegian manuals for a whole slew of cards! Not that ATI manuals are all that much use
