Hi,
I recently posted a thread where I was trying to see if my setup was acceptable before I start backing up VHS tapes. I'm not familiar enough with analog to know what's an error, and what's just normal VHS noise. I did create a previous thread on this, but I used a recording that I created. I believe the majority of the issues with that came from the recording itself, and the playback is actually fine. (Previous thread here:

To test this, I purchased an unopened season of Friends on VHS from
eBay and have used that to make a recording. Seems very noisy I have to say! Is this as the recordings are so old?
I think the rating card is probably the easiest to see any errors on? I can upload other samples if anyone wants.
I really appreciate any feedback from the more experienced VHS junkies on here

EDIT: Just a note, I might need to turn up the denoising a tad, 260mb for such a short video after encoding is madness...
