I need some advice regarding a Mitsubishi HS-U82 SVHS. Is it a good buy? I just need to transfert my old VHS tapes. I can't see any Mitsubishi in the VCR buying guide, so I was wondering if it is a good buy at $80USD in working condition. Thanks!

Seems it had some crazy features like movable heads for tracking and stuff. Whether it helps with playback I don't know, but it looks like a nightmare to service and maintain if something goes wrong. Sounds a bit scary to gamble on unless you know it's in perfect condition. Well-working SVHS VCRs usually go for a fair bit more, even lower end ones without TBCs, so unless you're lucky, working may just mean "i put a tape in and it accepted it and produced an image".
