Hello, I recently got my hands on a JVC DR-M10 DVD Recorder. It seems to be functioning however it wont use any of my blank discs. I tried DVD-RW's and it says "Could Not Format The Disc Check The Disc". I switched to a DVD-R. It says "Reading" and then clears out. No message about Formatting or anything. I then push record and it tells me the disc is not recordable. Any tips on this???

After looking into this a little bit it appears my DVD-R’s are at a speed of 16x which the recorder doesn’t support and only supports DVD-RWs with speed of 2x. While this may answer the question as to why the DVD-Rs aren’t working (assuming I’m reading into this correctly), it doesn’t exactly answer why my DVD-RW’s don’t work since the discs labels them as 4x/2x.

NEVERMIND. The person who sold me the unit provided a recordable disc compatible with the unit. I’m recording as we speak!

Quality 16x DVD-R media is fine.
Random 16x media will not work well, or at all.

2x -RW media only
Not +RW
Not 4x -RW, or faster.

Verbatim AZO, MCC code/ID, and the discs are actually 1x-16x, not just 16x. I have this recorder, I use those discs (and others, but these easiest to get).
