You see, neither AVT, nor Datavideo units were ever sold in Russia, at least not that I recall (and even if they WERE sold, they were most likely rarer than diamonds and costed just as much). Since I can't use the forum's marketplace, it leaves me with an only option: a Kramer FC-400. I see those units pop up on the local marketplaces occasionally and their price ranges from $500 to ~$1000. I did read it's weaker than the two aforementioned brands, but I don't have much of a choice. Either I get a Kramer or have no frame TBC at all.

Of course, there are some other options, like those Snell&Wilcox Kudos racks, but I don't know if those could be considered as alternatives to TBCs known around here. Those are oriented towards more professional, broadcasting solutions.

Get it.

It is weaker that DataVideo and Cypress, but it's stronger than TBC(ish) in most cases. It's not friendly to nth gen.

I don't recall if this model is NTSC only and PAL only, no switch. If that's the case, I've only used the NTSC. If you can switch it, then I've thoroughly tested it for both PAL and NTSC. I've not seen a Kramer in a few years now, so don't recall off-hand. Not at my system with the TBC research right now.

My planned workflow is as follows:

For SECAM/MESECAM tapes:
JVC HR-S7600 -> ES10 -> FC-400 -> Matrox MXO2 (though I might use an old PC with an AIW 7200 instead)

For PAL tapes:
JVC HR-S7600 (line TBC and DNR on) -> FC-400 -> Matrox MXO2/AIW 7200

For the former, the signal from ES10 would always be PAL. I doubt Russia has ever sold anything NTSC, so I'm sure Kramer would work with PAL.

What model S7600 you have? For instance my 7600AM can only playback native NTSC 5.58 525, Native PAL 625, NTSC 4.43 and MESECAM, It cannot playback native SECAM, If you have the S7600MS that one plays native SECAM.

7600AM, same as yours. Yeah I know it can't play SECAM, I tried. For that I may have to look into an MS unit, but it's low priority, as most of my tapes are PAL and MESECAM. For the latter I'd have to passthrough an ES10 regardless, as TBC and DNR don't work for it (although I've read somewhere that TBC does work when played on a Panasonic NV-HS model. If anyone has tried, please report your results. I'm actually curious).
